About the Group

Greetings and welcome to Classic Cancan 2! This is a continuation of Classic Cancan (https://classiccancan.blogspot.com/), which has reached capacity for new photos, but which is still active. Please make all new posts here rather than at Classic Cancan. The main discussion site, where most people post, is CancanGroup.io (https://groups.io/g/CancanGroup). Please go there for daily text postings. These are sites for the discussion and appreciation of the Cancan in all its forms, from its genesis in Paris during La Belle Epoche, to its appearance in London, San Francisco and The Old West. Owned and operated by the online cancan community, Classic Cancan 2 is open to everybody with a genuine interest in the World's Greatest Dance. Please note, however, that Classic Cancan 2 is a G-Rated group, so please don't post anything objectionable. While the content of this site may be described as slightly 'risque,' this is not an adult community in any sense of the word, and anything deemed inappropriate will be deleted immediately.

The Sharon Thompson dancers perform a Cancan The Tivoli Club

Discovered and posted by Le Flatline at Cancan Dancing (Facebook), this performance has it all.  A great video!

I note that the original poster at You Tube was "TI SA".  Is that you Tom?

Dollies of the Follies

"Two of the original Lovell can-can dancers – Deanna Wagner, left, and Arlene Sessions (now Ross, right) perform their olio to the song “Can Can” during the 1965 western melodrama staged by the Lovell Woman’s Club. The can-can dancers became a regular act and were later named the Dollies of the Follies."
