The Good Google giveth and the Good Google taketh away.
Google is going to delete its Photo Archives on July 19.
This affects our own group's photo archives, which will disappear on that date.
These
are accessed at CancanGroup (https://groups.io/g/CancanGroup) from the
pinned  message "Links to Blogger Photo Archives for All our Cancan
Groups" near the top of the messages.  It gives links to the various
Photo Archive albums.
I have attempted to download the entire
archive using a batch process offered by Google. I think it was
successful, although I need to check the results further.
I
used a process Google calls "Takeout" to download the whole Archive en
masse under each of my log-ins.  I got two .zip files as a result.
When I expanded the first one, it appears that the process was
successful.  The photos are arranged in the same folders we have at
CancanGroup, together with a lot of extraneous files too.
I
don't know if anyone else can download the files or if that is limited
to me since I set them up, but, if you want to have a copy of the
photos, you might want to give it a try.
Go to the pinned
message "Links to Blogger Photo Archives for All our Cancan Groups" and
click on one of the links and you will see the photos and a message from
Google about using Takeout or downloading the albums individually.
If
that doesn't work (and it may not), then about all you can do is
download selected photos one-by-one or try to download the albums
separately.  That may work for some of them.   I think some are too
large for that to work on them.
I'll try to find another home for the archives when I have time.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I
may also try to upload the .zip files to dropbox or some other similar
service.  If so, you may be able to download them from there.
At any rate, if there are some particular photos you want to keep, now is the time to retrieve them.
