" Soldiers Peter and Nicky vie for the favor of the court actress, Ninon. However, their adoration clashes with their military duties, and they are placed under house arrest. Nevertheless, they go to the theater to watch Ninon perform. Inevitably, the two are caught and make their escape.

 The world premiere took place on January 20, 1954, in Munich; the Berlin premiere followed on June 11 of the same year."

The lead cancan dancer is Nadja Tiller.
